The Conqueror

Huguenot Red 2012

The Story

The Conqueror: Our great grandfather Jacobus Coenraad Le Roux,
born in 1874 was a prisoner of war in St. Helena in 1901. Rising from
the scorched earth policy of Lord Kitchener, they took up their tools
and re-built their destroyed farms. The brothers, Johan P and Le
Roux Fourie still have his personal Bible noted with 10 of his favorite
verses as a legacy. It is from this spirit of overcoming that our wines
have been established and created.

Nose and Pallet

The Conqueror will age well and carries earthy, yet fruity cherry
flavours.

Food Pairings

It will complement almost any dish, yet pairs nicely with
savoury flavours in well-matured steak, venison, kudu, and strong
cheese, similar to peer French blends.
