Sustainability

Sustainability

Sustainability sits at the core of our estate’s ethos - both in our local community,
as well as our local environment.

Our Community

Our boutique wine farming practices are labour intensive. This creates employment for the local community and enables greater community involvement. At Le Roux & Fourie Vignerons, we believe in making a difference where it matters and changing lives for the better. Our engagement extends beyond the vineyard, fostering meaningful community partnerships. We proudly support the Vinkrivier Ladies Fellowship, and donate 10% of the proceeds from the Lady of Hope Chardonnay to this initiative by empowering the working woman through support, fellowship and encouragement.

Conservation

Our farm is part of the Rooiberg Conservancy which preserves indigenous wildlife by dedicating  90% of our farmland to the natural habitat. We follow an eco-friendly approach to all our farming activities. We actively support the Landmark Foundation’s Leopard and Predator Project. Rare sightings of elusive leopards and other wildlife underscore the sanctuary-like nature of the estate. Guests may also indulge in the discreet luxury of the Buitenstekloof Mountain Cottages, offering a serene, off-grid retreat amidst the breathtaking landscape.
