Melodie Mourvedre

We recently hosted a Malbec vs Mourvedre tasting at our wine club - Mourvedre being the lesser known and drunk varietal. Meoldie Mourvedre scored 16.5 out of 20 points. Tasters liked the fact that the tannins have softened and integrated with ageing. Flavours that were mentioned: forest floor, berries, liquorice and peppery notes. This is a very good wine to enjoy now and at this price point, an absolute bargain

Interesting nose... first impression was that of a comfortable manor house library stacked with readable books; and some pepper and black berries! .The palate did not disappoint, with pepper again from one of us and pepper in the aftertaste from the other. Nicely integrated, and although slightly lighter bodied for a winter's evening, it leaves a gripping aftertaste.
